Is a TEFL certificate worth it?
Maybe we’re biased, but yes. As a general rule of thumb, you will almost always see a return on a TEFL certificate. It will boost the options available to you in teaching English as a foreign language, will add credibility to your CV, and will even transfer into other careers. We have met many people who continue to find value in their TEFL certificate, even when not in TEFL. In many areas, you will need a TEFL certificate to find work, and if you don’t have one you will find it challenging to find legal teaching work, and even harder to find an excellent employer who will take you on. A TEFL certificate is a safe bet, with a potentially big return for quite a small investment.
