How long are TESOL courses?

TESOL courses vary in length. Generally, the shortest course you could take would be approximately twenty hours of learning, and may be in class or may be entirely online. A normal course length is 120 hours, although 60, 120, 150, and 180 hour courses are also available. There is always a benefit to additional study, so it’s worth opting for a longer course if you can. A longer course will also look more attractive to employers and imply a higher level of understanding, dedication, and knowledge of teaching English as a foreign language. It’s also good, if possible, to have a practical element that includes supervised or assessed teaching – although it’s not necessarily a stringent requirement.
